Peacock kicks off campaign with City Councilman Ed Driggs Endorsement

Joined by over 150 supporters at Sycamore Brewing, Edwin Peacock highlighted his plan to help Charlotte reach its high potential and meet the challenges we face in the coming years.

Republican City Councilman Ed Driggs wholeheartedly threw his support behind Peacock with opening remarks. “We have a real vacuum of leadership at City Hall,“ said Driggs. “We need a leader who can lead us into the future and bring people together and that is why it is so important that we elect Edwin Peacock for Mayor.”

Addressing the challenges ahead for Charlotte, Peacock offered the following remarks:

“Charlotte needs to plot a new course to meet the growing challenges ahead of us. That means focusing on schools, because strong neighborhoods are anchored by good schools. That means fostering an entrepreneurial ecosystem and taking advantage of our airport and unique inter-modal facility to make Charlotte a global hub for trade. And finally, with growth comes addressing the challenges of mobility by taking a multi-modal approach to transit planning.”

Peacock further reiterated his commitment to bringing a “renewed focus on making Charlotte the best place in America to raise a family and start a business.”

Edwin Peacock served on City Council as an At-Large Republican from 2007 to 2011. Edwin and his wife, Amy, have two children.
