Bringing Together Extraordinary People (B.T.E.P.) in collaboration with Remarkable You, (an initiative that screens for diabetes, obesity, and hypertension), is back in the streets of Uptown. The 3 on 3 Tournament will commence on August 26th, 2017 on South Mint Street, between the BB&T Baseball Stadium and Romare Bearden Park. (Free to the public)
The event will address the growing epidemic of underfunded sports programs in Mecklenburg County, while simultaneously accepting school supplies for the upcoming school season.
We attract all areas of Mecklenburg County and have extended our reach into SC and surrounding counties, all while relishing in the different races that attend. On site, free health screenings will be provided by our title sponsor Remarkable You, for everyone (17+) to help lessen medical costs and maintain a healthy body.
Please note that we are offering a monetary grant for the nonprofit, business, or individual who bring the most people out for a screening. Must be 17 or older, and bring at least 25 persons to be eligible.
Also, calling all student artists, we are holding a competition for 10 pieces of work to be featured and bid on August 27th, 2017 from 2-4pm at the New Gallery of Modern Art located at 435 South Tryon St, Charlotte, NC 28202. Artists will keep 50% of bids, with the grand prize winner’s art winner to be featured alongside Dutchess of Black Ink to her 1.1 million followers.
