Panthers Sign CB Houston

The Carolina Panthers have signed cornerback Chris Houston to a one-year contract, the team announced Monday.

Houston, 5-11 and 180 pounds, has played in 99 regular season games with 91 starts for his career splitting time between the Atlanta Falcons (2007-09) and Detroit Lions (2010-13). He has totaled 370 tackles, 13 interceptions, including three returned for touchdowns, 80 passes defensed, four forced fumbles and two fumble recoveries. Houston played collegiately at Arkansas and was selected by the Falcons in the second-round (41st overall) of the 2007 NFL Draft.

The Panthers also waived defensive back Jocquel Skinner.
