The Carolina Panthers have re-signed unrestricted free agent guard Amini Silatolu to a one-year contract, the team announced Monday.
Silatolu enters his sixth season with the Panthers in 2018. He played for Carolina from 2012-15 and then again in 2017. Silatolu attended training camp with the Chicago Bears in 2016, but was released prior to the regular season and did not play in 2016. He has played in 48 career games with 31 starts, all with the Panthers.
Last season, he saw action in 14 games and started at right guard for the last three games of the regular season. He helped the Panthers rank fourth in the NFL with 131.4 rushing yards per game.
A second-round draft choice (40th overall) by the Panthers in 2012, Silatolu was an All-Rookie selection by Pro Football Weekly/PFWA in 2012 when he started a career-high 15 games.
