Panthers Re-Sign CB LaDarius Gunter

The Carolina Panthers have re-signed free agent cornerback LaDarius Gunter to a one-year contract, the team announced Monday.

Gunter was claimed by the Panthers from Green Bay in Week 2 of the 2017 season. He saw action in four regular season games, primarily on special teams. Gunter played as a reserve cornerback in Carolina’s playoff game at New Orleans and recorded a tackle.

Signed as an undrafted free agent out of Miami (Fla.) in 2015, Gunter made Green Bay’s opening day roster in 2015, and played two full seasons for the Packers along with the first game of the 2017 season. He totaled 25 games played for the Packers with 15 starts.

In his 2016 season, he played in 16 games with 15 starts, making 58 tackles, two forced fumbles and a team-high 15 passes defensed. He also started all three postseason contests and registered 13 tackles with two pass deflections.
