The Carolina Panthers have signed free agent running back Kenjon Barner to a one-year contract, the team announced today.
Barner was drafted by Carolina in the sixth round of the 2013 Draft and spent one season with the Panthers before he was traded to Philadelphia prior to the 2014 season.
Barner played 36 games with Philadelphia, totaling 310 rushing yards and three rushing touchdowns on 71 carries. Last year, he played in 13 games with one start, rushing for 57 yards on 16 attempts with one touchdown. He played in Super Bowl LII and won a ring with Philadelphia.
Over his career, Barner has played in 44 games, totaling 317 rush yards on 77 carries with three rushing touchdowns. He’s also averaged 22.6 yards on 22 kickoff returns and 8.6 yards on 30 punt returns.
Barner played in eight regular season games and one postseason game for Carolina in 2013, rushing six times for seven yards. Drafted from Oregon, Barner finished his college career ranked second in Oregon history with 3,623 rushing yards and tied for second with 41 rushing touchdowns.
