Panthers Release RB and Sign Tackle From Rams

The Carolina Panthers have signed safety Robert Lester to the active roster from the practice squad and signed offensive tackle Mike Remmers to the active roster from the St. Louis practice squad, the team announced Tuesday.

To make room for Lester and Remmers, the Panthers have placed linebacker Chase Blackburn on injured reserve and waived running back Darrin Reaves.

Remmers, 6-5 and 300 pounds, has spent time on the practice squads of Tampa Bay, Minnesota and St. Louis. He has also spent time on the active rosters of San Diego and Minnesota, playing in one game for the Chargers in 2013. He entered the NFL with Denver in 2012 as an undrafted free agent from Oregon State.
