Panthers Re-Sign DT Cole To One-Year Contract

The Carolina Panthers have re-signed defensive tackle Colin Cole to a one-year contract, the team announced Tuesday.

Cole, 6-2 and 330 pounds, has spent the past two seasons with the Panthers after signing with the team as a free agent in 2013. Cole has played in 31 of a possible 32 regular season games since joining Carolina, starting 26. He has been a key contributor to a Carolina defense that has ranked in the top 10 in each of the past two seasons and helped the Panthers win back-to-back NFC South titles in 2013 and 2014.

In 2014, Cole played in all 16 regular season games with 10 starts, totaling 26 tackles and a fumble recovery. He also played in two postseason games with one start.

Cole entered the NFL in 2003 as an undrafted rookie free agent with Minnesota. He has played for Minnesota (2003), Detroit (2003), Green Bay (2004-08), Seattle (2009-10) and Carolina (2013-14) in his career, totaling 302 tackles and 5.5 sacks in 115 regular season games with 57 starts.
