Panthers Along with ESPN Grants Wish With Make A Wish Foundation

ESPN, in partnership with the Make A Wish Foundation, has identified George’s wish for its “My Wish” television series which will air in July.  The My Wish series spotlights several sports-related wish grants each year.

The Carolina Panthers are assisting the make A Wish Foundation in granting the wish of six year old George Gring, a rising first grader from Houston, TX who was diagnosed with Burkitt’s Lymphoma, an intestinal-based cancer.  George’s wish is to be a Carolina Panther and to play with Cam Newton.  Following aggressive chemotherapy treatments, George was pronounced “all clear” in April 2014.

George will return to Carolina in August after he becomes a “household name” and will serve as the team’s Keep Pounding drummer for the Aug 17 Chiefs vs. Panthers game.
