Charlotte Greek Picnic 2012

The Charlotte Greek Picnic is a free event opened to the public located in the historical Uptown Charlotte Marshall Park.  It will take place on Friday April 20th, through Saturday April 21st, 2012. The 2nd Annual Charlotte Greek Picnic is a family-friendly event loaded with festivities that include games, food, music, and live entertainment. The event is free to the public and serves to unite members of various Greek organizations, in addition to non-Greek community members. Non-Greek members are particularly drawn to this event because of their interest in Greek culture. The Charlotte Greek Picnic 2012, includes both day and nightlife social events for collegiate, alumni and community.  The event also provides fraternity/sorority members with the unique opportunity to G.I.V.E. (Get Involved, Volunteer, & Experience.)

Marshall Park was chosen as the venue for this event because it sits on 1.24 acres of land and features open green space, along with a pond and fountain that are beautifully situated in the center of the park. Everyone in attendance will experience an atmosphere that encourages fellowship, celebration, giving back, reuniting, and networking. The Charlotte Greek Picnic will also be an ideal opportunity to interact with the nearly ten thousand patrons who are expected to join in on the festivities.

The Queen City is known for being an extremely culturally-diverse city that has something to offer everyone. Charlotte is the host city for major events such as Democratic National Convention, NASCAR, Taste of Charlotte, the ACC Championships, and the CIAA tournaments. The Charlotte Greek Picnic recognizes the Queen City’s endless possibilities.  This monumental event provides a new and exhilarating experience for the community, local businesses, vendors, and the Greek-based family. The event offers local businesses and non- profits exposure; and it also provides them with the opportunity to invest in our city’s greatest resource — the whole community.
