Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Inc. Collects & Distributes Business Attire to Aid Job Seekers

Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Inc. is a 93-year old community-conscious, action-oriented organization that was founded with the principle of helping others.  Locally, Charlotte’s premier graduate Zeta chapter, the Delta Zeta chapter, has been an integral force in the Charlotte community since r 1934.  To commemorate their upcoming 79th anniversary, members are making the mission of serving others a part of their celebratory activities.  According to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics, the unemployment rate in Charlotte is 8.5% (July 2013), compared to the national average of 7.3% (August 2013).  Sorority members saw this as an opportunity to provide assistance.  They believe that due to recent limitations on government assistance and unfavorable market conditions, many unemployed individuals probably can’t afford to purchase proper business attire or other items needed during interviews, career fairs, etc.

In an effort to improve this situation, the Delta Zeta Chapter will be collecting business attire and related items at their property (4248 Beatties Ford Road, Charlotte, NC) on Saturday, November 9th and Saturday, December 14th 12:00 to 4:00 pm.  Everyone is encouraged to donate any of the items listed below that are in good, presentable condition:
