The Carolina Panthers have re-signed unrestricted free agent linebacker Jason Williams and free agent cornerback James Dockery, the team announced Monday.

A veteran of five NFL seasons, Williams has spent the majority of the last four seasons with the Panthers after first joining the team off waivers from Dallas in 2010. Williams had a brief stint with the Philadelphia Eagles in 2012 before returning to Carolina later that season. Last season vs. the New York Jets (12/15/13), Williams blocked a punt by Jets punter Ryan Quigley, setting the Panthers up in the red zone for a touchdown. Since 2010, Williams has totaled 28 special teams tackles for the Panthers, the second-most on the team throughout the last four seasons. He led Carolina with 15 special teams stops in 2011. For his career, Williams has played in 46 games with four starts, totaling 39 tackles on defense, two passes defensed, one fumble recovery and one forced fumble.

Dockery has played in 12 games with two starts for the Panthers since joining the team in October 2012. In 2013, Dockery was limited to five games and three tackles due to thumb and shoulder injuries. Dockery originally entered the NFL as an undrafted rookie free agent with the Cleveland Browns in 2011, playing in 12 games. For his career, he has played in 24 games with two starts and registered 20 tackles and one pass defensed.
