IKEA Charlotte Partners with Sow Much Good

IKEA Charlotte collaborates with Sow Much Good for the retailer’s Life Improvement Series. IKEA will distribute kitchen supplies to community members while SMG shows attendees how to cook healthier on March 19 from 9:00 a.m. until 12 noon at the Urban Farm.

IKEA Associates, Sow Much Good staff and volunteers will distribute kitchen tools such as salad spinners, cutlery and cutting boards as part of IKEA’s monthly Life Improvement Series, which takes IKEA products into communities to help improve the lives of others.

Sow Much Good will also host cooking demonstrations in partnership with Johnson & Wales student chefs to showcase healthy spring meals as well as to exhibit creative uses for the IKEA kitchenware. Sow Much Good is a Charlotte nonprofit that provides access to chemical free and affordable produce while educating residents of food desert and food insecure communities on how to cook healthier meals to fight against chronic lifestyle diseases. The organization also advocates for the right of everyone to have access to clean food no matter their geographic location or socio-economic status.

The collaboration will take place at Sow Much Good’s Headquarters located at: 3400 Sunset Rd. in Charlotte. Community members can sign up to attend the free event at tiny.cc/smgandikea.
