CNN PICKS CHARLOTTE’S OWN EMMONS TO ATTEND A STAR-STUDDED GALA AS A CNN HERO FAVORITE

Robin Emmons, founder of Sow Much Good, was selected as a top ten CNN Hero this morning on CNN’s “New Day” by Anderson Cooper which immediately won her nonprofit $50,000. She is among 10 other top Heroes that will travel to New York for a celebrity tribute. Sow Much Good is celebrating the news with a Fall Festival and press conference on Oct. 12 to explain how this selection puts them in the running for $250,000.

“The Heroes award is an incredible honor and an exciting milestone for our organization. To be selected in the Top Ten is an amazing recognition for which we are tremendously grateful,” said Emmons about the selection.

CNN Heroes is a television special created by CNN to honor individuals who make extraordinary contributions to humanitarian aid and make a real difference in their communities.

To celebrate, a Fall Festival will be held on the Urban Farm featuring a variety of classes including Zumba, composting, gardening and cooking. While these free classes are held the market will be open selling chemical free produce at low cost to the community. Pumpkins and other fall favorites will be available as well.
