On Wednesday, May 1, 2013, Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Officer Jeffrey T. Taylor was arrested by CMPD detectives and charged with obtaining property by false pretence, NC G.S. 14-1000.
The charges stem from a criminal investigation which concluded Taylor falsified time sheets while working secondary (off-duty) employment at the Arboretum Shopping Center, located in south Charlotte between October of 2012 and January 2013.
Taylor turned himself in to detectives earlier this evening. He’s been placed on unpaid administrative leave pending a criminal and internal investigation. Taylor was hired by the CMPD on April 26, 1989. He was assigned to the Metro Division and worked as a school resource officer at Phillip O. Berry High School.
Please see below statement concerning the arrest from Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Chief Rodney D. Monroe.
