The Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association (CIAA) has made the following adjustments to the 2015 CIAA Basketball Tournament game and event schedule in preparation for the predicted winter weather.
To allow time for safe traveling conditions from the Time Warner Cable Arena for attendees and teams, the remaining games this evening, Wednesday, February 25th, will begin 20 minutes following the conclusion of the previous game.
Thursday morning’s Rickey Smiley Morning Show has been cancelled; the CIAA Career Expo will operate on a two-hour delay at the Charlotte Convention Center. The Expo will be held from 1:00 – 5:00 p.m. Breakout Sessions will take place from 1:00 p.m. – 3:00 p.m. All afternoon games and events will begin as scheduled. The CIAA Men’s quarterfinals will begin as scheduled at 1:00 p.m.; all four games will be televised on the ASPiRE network.
The Legends of Hip Hop Concert featuring Doug E. Fresh, Slick Rick, Big Daddy Kane, Chubb Rock and MC Lyte will also start as scheduled. Tickets can be purchased in advance (HERE)orat the Convention Center.
The inaugural Shoes of Hope service project at Billingsville Elementary School, as part of the CIAA Tournament event, will be based on the operating schedule of the Mecklenburg County School system.
