Headlines Barbershop Gives Back for the Holidays

Headlines Barbershop of 5309-A E. Independence Blvd is hosting a drive to collect hygiene products for the Salvation Army’s shelter on Spratt St in Charlotte, NC.  Every arriving individual receives a hygiene pack including toiletries used on an everyday basis.  Such items include: shampoo, conditioner, toothbrushes, toothpaste, deodorant and razors.  All sizes are needed and welcome.  Drop off your new hygiene products at Headlines Barbershop between November 19th and December 21st.

This is just one in a series of events that the barber shop has hosted in their new giving back initiative that started earlier this year.  In July, the barber shop hosted a food drive to benefit the Second Harvest Food Bank of Metrolina.  Headlines Barbershop collected 718 pounds of food and won a national award from Andis for community involvement.  Owner, Derrick Bennett, shares his motivation for these events.  “It’s important for each one of us to give back to our community.  Each of us has been so blessed in different ways and we should make it a habit to share those blessings with others who may be down on their luck.”
