Panthers Trade For Seattle WR Norwood

The Carolina Panthers have acquired wide receiver Kevin Norwood in a trade with the Seattle Seahawks, the Panthers announced Monday. Seattle will receive an undisclosed 2017 draft choice in the trade.

“Kevin gives us another player to compete at the wide receiver position,” general manager Dave Gettleman said. “He has the size you look for along with toughness and smarts. We studied him a lot going into last year’s draft and we look forward to having him as part of our receiving corps.”

Norwood, 6-2 and 200 pounds, was a 2014 fourth-round draft choice (123rd overall) of the Seahawks. He played nine games with two starts as a rookie and recorded nine receptions for 102 yards. He also saw action in one postseason game.

Norwood played collegiately at Alabama, seeing action in 48 games with 18 starts and posting 1,275 yards with 12 touchdowns on 81 receptions.
