Panthers Make Roster Moves During Bye Week

The Carolina Panthers have activated fullback Mike Tolbert from injured reserve/designated to return and signed wide receiver/cornerback De’Andre Presley to the active roster from the practice squad, the team announced Tuesday.

To make room for Tolbert and Presley, the Panthers waived wide receiver Jason Avant and placed offensive tackle Nate Chandler on injured reserve with a knee injury.

Tolbert returns to the active roster after being placed on the injured reserve/designated to return list on Sept. 22 with an injured leg suffered in the Panthers game against the Pittsburgh Steelers Sept. 21. The fullback was an All-Pro and Pro Bowl selection in 2013.

Presley returned from the physically unable to perform list on Nov. 3 and was added to the team’s practice squad on Nov. 6.

Avant had played in all 11 games for the Panthers in his first season with the team, totaling 21 catches for 201 yards and one touchdown. Chandler started all 11 games at tackle for the Panthers this season.
