Tuning into your own reality

What does it mean to tune into your own reality?

Reality tv may be the first thing that comes to mind when reading a headline such as ‘tuning into your own reality’.  Reality has taken on new definitions over the last few years and tv has had a lot to do with it.  Hearing the word ‘reality’ today can easily and without hesitation bring on the expectation of a show, a show out,  or some form of entertainment.  With the high demands of what it takes to be successful in the world of television, many individuals along with entertainment venues have added to, revised, or completely changed the meaning of reality as it’s been known for many years prior to the existence of reality tv.  Due to the added-on versions of what reality means, the most productive outcome you will likely get from reality tv shows is hopefully the urge or encouragement to actually take an in depth look at your own.  Your own reality.

Tuning into your own reality simply means having a consistent awareness of every aspect of your life that can possibly bring any enhancement or growth and finding ways to nurture those aspects.  What do you have to offer that can not only better the lives of others but will also allow you to shine?  This is your reality.  At the core of your existence, as you go through the hustle and bustle of everyday life, there are areas of strength within, longing to be fed the time and attention needed to develop and give you your shine.   Tuning into your own reality means engaging in deeper thought than the normal day to day expected thinking so you can recognize and benefit from those enhancements your life has to offer.  Ultimately, successfully tuning into your own reality includes the ability to make the connection between your thoughts, your beliefs, and the actions that result from such.  This connection is your reality and it will determine everything.   Contrary to what is sold to you through reality tv, your own reality will involve much more than the surface level thoughtless activity presented as real living.  Compare the images to you own and to others around you, if you will, and enjoy the illusions, but be careful not to cling to the superficial lifestyles so often presented to you as reality.  Tuning into your own reality will involve much more than the facades that keep you mesmerized.  It’s entertainment, you say, however, the notion that it is someone’s reality can, perhaps subconsciously, still connect to your meaning of reality, giving you a false and misguided interpretation of your own.

Imagine having the same excitement and anticipation towards your own reality.  Do you?  The time you set aside to engage and wouldn’t dare miss.  The thoughtful conversations you contribute to with others afterwards, although it’s only entertainment.  Even the hope you carry into the next episode for the outcome you desire of someone else’s so-called reality.  Imagine having all of these experiences, desires, and drive towards your own reality.  Your own is always yearning for that same kind of attention and energy.  But until you set aside the time to engage in your own, have those thoughtful conversations about your own, and move forward with hope in your own, making the connection between your strengths and the differences they can make, may never happen.  Instead of running from your own, tune in!  Spend time analyzing your own.  Set the DVR and get excited about your own.   It’s worth every ounce of attention you give it but until you do, your sense of reality becomes more open to being distorted by what reality really is not, as you continue to buy into a desire to be entertained.  Dare to tune into your own.  There’s much more there than meets the eye.
