Headlines Barber Shop Holds 3rd Annual Food Drive

CHARLOTTE, NC – Headlines Barber Shop will host its 2nd Annual Food Drive from July 14th – August 15th.  The drive will benefit the Second Harvest Food Bank of Metrolina.  The organization provides food to those in need in the greater Charlotte area.

Headlines Barber Shop, traditionally, holds their annual food drive during the summer since food bank donations are lower during that time.  Last year, the barber shop held a food drive called “The #1000PoundFoodDrive” which had a goal of collecting 1,000 pounds of food.  The end result was nearly 1,500 pounds of food.  Continuing in that same tradition, this year’s food drive will be called the #2000PoundFoodDrive with a goal of collecting 2,000 pounds of food.  “Each year, we want to challenge ourselves to give more than we did the year before.  We can’t do it by ourselves though.  We’ve gotten a lot of great support from other small businesses and the community at large.

The public is encouraged to bring donations to the barber shop at 5309 E. Independence Blvd in Charlotte.  When donating, Headlines asks that you post pictures on social media with the hashtag: #2000PoundFoodDrive.
