CHARLOTTE, NC – Chowan fans can follow the women’s basketball action live this afternoon as they will play #1N Virginia Union University at 1:00pm. The Hawks are hoping that the third time is a charm after falling to the Lady Panthers twice in divisional play this season. The Hawks, playing as the #5 seed out the North Division, dropped two regular season match ups, 67-59 on the road and 59-54 at home. The Lady Panthers will have to stop Ransheda Jennings, who put up 25 points and 18 points respectively in previous outings this season.

Chowan (11-16) beat #4S Fayetteville State University yesterday to advance to the second round today. Jennings nailed a jumper in the paint with :04 on the clock to help propel her team to the dramatic win. Virginia Union University  (12-13) received a bye in the first round after getting the #1 seed in the division.
