CMS to close schools and offices Friday, Jan. 22

Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools will be closed for students on Friday, Jan. 22, due to the forecast of severe weather. The district has designated the day as Code C, meaning essential employees will report to work. CMS staff members work with city and county leaders to receive the most up-to-date information about road and weather conditions.

Monday, Jan. 25, originally a teacher workday, will be the make-up day for students and schools, except for two Project L.I.F.T. Continuous Learning Schools (Druid Hills and Thomasboro academies) because they already have 19 additional days built into their calendar.

The After-School Enrichment Program (ASEP) will be closed. All after-school and athletic activities, as well as all Community Use of Schools events, will be canceled Friday and Saturday.
